Michael Phillips Acoustics are experts in office acoustics optimisation. We acoustically design effective and practical office spaces that are proven to increase professional efficiency, lower disturbances and stress levels, increase speech intelligibility, provide acoustic privacy and optimise audio/video conference and boardrooms.

Yes we can provide solutions to the horrible echo that you hear during video calls!

This process involves analysis and calculation of the proposed or existing office space and can be conducted utilising the architectural plans, without the need for a site visit in many cases.

Every room is different, and the acoustic treatments required are dependant on the room geometry, architectural finishes and function of space.

Michael Phillips Acoustics are acoustic panel and construction material experts and can provide you with flexible specification and designs that can consider your unique acoustic privacy goals and design aesthetics.

Speech Intelligibility

We design office spaces in accordance with AS/NZS 2107-2016: Acoustics – Recommended design sound levels and reverberation times for building interiors. We factor; internal noise levels, reverberation time, control of flutter echoes, standing waves and your office aesthetic. We seamlessly collaborate with your designer or interior architect. This process collectively ensures that a Michael Phillips Acoustics designed office space is optimised for the function of space and with a high level of speech intelligibility.

Acoustic Privacy

Acoustic privacy, sometimes referred to as Soundproofing, refers to creating acoustical separation between spaces. It is important to understand that controlling reverberation time with traditional acoustic panels does not equate to acoustic privacy in most settings. In order to create acoustic privacy, we need to consider three factors; mass, resilience and airtight construction. This means that we need heavy (mass), sealed (airtight) and free from rigid contact (resilient) constructions in order to soundproof a room effectively.

Michael Phillips acoustics will recommend systems that will meet your acoustic privacy goals, with a design and specification that can be constructed with common building materials.
